STATE OF MICHIGAN ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM

Brief Description: Energy Efficiency Program

Program Area: Statewide / Citywide.

Services: Teach homeowners how to be energy wiseConduct Energy Efficiency Home Inspection Write-up Energy Efficiency Specification for appliances/electrical/pluming/heating-cooling

HUD CITY OF DETROIT MINOR HOME REPAIR PROGRAM

Brief Description: Administers the City of Detroit Home Repair Program that serves Detroit residents with home repair grants. Allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) dollars from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and/or City of Detroit General Fund dollars.

Program Area: Citywide

Services: Performing home inspections to identify the eligible priority home repair needs of the home/homeowner in order to develop specifications to complete construction. Preparing scopes of work/specifications. Perform environmental review, historic preservation and lead based-paint reviews under state and federal statutes, as applicable Preparing cost estimates and bid packages and conducting bid walk for contractors.

Reviewing bids for costs and program standards and awarding a construction contract. Prepare and execute all project documents including grant agreements, inspection reports, photos, construction-related documents, final inspections (including those from City of Detroit Building Department) and all other documents related to the project. Monitor and review contractor work to ensure compliance with local and state building codes

HUD CITY OF DETROIT SENIOR HOME REPAIR PROGRAM

Brief Description: Administers Senior Emergency Home Repair Program that serves Detroit residents 62 years or older (or 55 years or older if they receive Social Security Disability) Development Block Grant (CDBG) dollars from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and/or City of Detroit General Fund dollars.

Program Area: Citywide.

Services: Performing home inspections to identify the eligible priority home repair needs of the Senior home repair in order to develop specifications to complete construction. Preparing scopes of work/specifications. Perform environmental review, historic preservation and lead based-paint reviews under state and federal statutes, as applicable Preparing cost estimates and bid packages and conducting bid walk for contractors.

Reviewing bids for costs and program standards and awarding a construction contract. HOMELESS WOMEN VETERANS PROGRAM

Our focus is threefold:
Proactively seek homeless or at risk of homeless female veterans in need of assistance.
Provide temporary to permeate co-operative housing to female veterans who really want to
Be with other Veterans because of the bond they share.
Connect homeless and at-risk female veterans to access health care needs and to re- engage them back into the community and social services.

Step to determine who is eligible for the housing services
Pre-screen female born Veterans.
Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Retired or Active Female Veterans (no children).
Female Veterans who can benefit from this type of housing arrangement.

Finally, developing a “New Renters/Homeownership” training program designed to educate homeless individuals about the “Do’s and Don’ts” of renting, designed to educate renters about the responsibilities of homeownership, and new business about their commitment and involvement in the community about them.
